AFC Playoffs Baltimore Ravens vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

Saturday, January 15th, 2011

A true battle of the AFC North. The Baltimore Ravens (12-4) and Pittsburgh Steelers (12-4) face off in Pittsburgh. These teams have played twice this season with Baltimore winning the first meeting at Pittsburgh by 3 points and Pittsburgh winning the second meeting at Baltimore by 3 points. Both teams have outstanding defenses, which are usually a key to winning a game between these two rivals.

The Baltimore Ravens are going to have to rely on outstanding play from their 3rd year quarterback Joe Flacco as Pittsburgh has been stingy all season allowing only 65 yards rushing per game. Baltimore’s defense will be led by Ed Reed who has 8 interceptions in 10 games and All-Pro Ray Lewis who led the team this season with 139 tackles in 16 games.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are the 2nd placed team in the AFC this season. While the Ravens and Steelers have split both games this season, the Steelers have won their last 6 games against the Ravens when Ben Roethlisberger has been their quarterback. Troy Polamalu had the ability to rest his sore ankle as Pittsburgh had the a bye week last week and looks to be ready to play today as he had a practice on Thursday and a full workout Yesterday.
